Best Newcomer Award
This Award is open to all new businesses, set up since January 2003, who have demonstrated a solid business strategy, successful implementation of that strategy and a framework plan for future success.


Best Small Business Award
This Award is open to all small businesses, employing 20 staff or less, who have demonstrated significant strategic growth and innovation in its market sector.


Best Innovation Award
This Award is open to businesses who have examined the traditional business methodology and by applying innovative thinking have developed new products or services, new processes, discovered new opportunities in technology or applied e-business to revive a declining industry. The winner of this Award will demonstrate a proven ability to innovate that will substantially improve the companies performance or prospects.


Best Medium to Large Business Award
This Award is open to all businesses, employing 20 or more employees who have demonstrated significant strategic growth or sustainability in a contracting market as well as innovation in its market sector.


Best Business to Business Award
This Award is open to those companies who operate in the business to business sector and will reward those who see delivering excellence in service to other businesses as an integral part of their core business.

Customer Excellence Award in Retail and Services
The Award is open to all retail business providing services to the general public.To succeed in this category you must demonstrate how customer services sustains and grows your business in a highly competitive market and must undergo a “Mystery Shopper” evaluation of your service.


Customer Excellence Award in Tourism and Hospitality
The Award is open to all businesses working in the Tourism or Hospitality sector.To succeed in this category you must demonstrate how customer service is key to gaining repeat business and how your business strives to consistently increase customer satisfaction. The shortlisted companies in this category will undergo a “Mystery Shopper” evaluation.


Customer Excellence Award in Professional and Financial Services
This award is open to all businesses in the Professional and Financial sector including but not limited to doctors, solicitors, banks, insurance providers. To succeed in this category you must be able to demonstrate how you have effectively implemented strategies to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. If you are shortlisted for this category, you will undergo a “Mystery Shopper” evaluation.


Special Awards Community Commitment Award
Drogheda Chamber, has introduced a new category for 2006 that recognises the important role played by the voluntary sector in our community.The “Community Commitment” Award is open to all voluntary organisations who provide services, funds, resources, knowledge and skills to sustain and develop an important community resource.We want to hear about the community groups that are striving for excellence in their work - do you know of an organisation who should apply for this Award? Please do invite them to apply. The applicants in this category will be judged on the same criteria as the conventional awards and the judging will be by the independent Judging Panel. Drogheda Concentrates, proud sponsors of this category, are delighted to announce that an additional prize of €1000.00 will be presented to the organisation that is selected as the winner of the Community Commitment Award.


Lifetime Achievement Award
This special Award will recognise the work and contribution of one member of our business community. The winner of this Award will be an outstanding individual whose pioneering spirit, resourcefulness and determination have contributed to our community - both in business and the social fabric of the community - and inspired others. It differs from other categories because it is not open to application and judging. Instead, the winner will be elected by nomination of the Council of Drogheda Chamber. The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be honoured at the Gala Awards Night in recognition of their dedication to their work and excellence.
