Musgrave Group Wins Overall CSR Award
46% increase in applications to President’s Awards for CSR
Musgrave Group has won the Overall Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Chambers Ireland’s President’s Awards for CSR, which were held in Dublin last night.
The awards were co-partnered with Business in the Community Ireland and run in association with the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
They were also sponsored by resource.
Each winner received a specially commissioned trophy designed by Waterford Crystal.
According to the judging panel, Musgrave Group’s winning project demonstrated “in a real and tangible way the company’s commitment to sustainable development by ensuring the lowest environmental impact in the design and construction of their new group head office.”
Speaking at the event, David Pierce, President of Chambers Ireland said, “All companies here tonight have proven that CSR is on the radar of businesses both large and small. However, driving home the benefits of CSR is crucial to maximising its potential. A collective and sustained effort is therefore needed if the ethos of CSR is to become embedded in Ireland’s business culture. The shortlisted companies and Musgrave’s in particular have shown the way for all companies to follow.”
Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Pat Carey T.D. said, “I congratulate the participants for their efforts to improve the lives of their employees and to enhance the civic environment in which they operate. The principles they espouse through their involvement in this event fit very well with my Department’s objectives of promoting and supporting the sustainable and inclusive development of communities.”
Tina Roche, Chief Executive of Business in the Community Ireland said, “I would like to pay a special tribute to Musgraves who are leaders in the field of corporate responsibility and to recognise that the other companies who have won awards represent the very best examples of the positive impact of business on society. Congratulations to all of them.”
Terence Brannigan, Chief Executive of resource – sponsors of the prestigious event and Ireland’s leading supplier of soft services – said, “resource is delighted to play its part in honouring companies that have made a real and lasting commitment to CSR and I congratulate all the winners of these important awards.
