Bon Voyage Abdoullahi!!

The students aim to perfect their English over 2 years in parallel to their degree course, through additional English, a whole term of lectures and seminars with English-speaking lectures and professionals.  At the end of the 2-year programme some of the students go straight into an international working environment, whilst others choose to further their studies at one of France’s prestigious Business Schools to study management.

Upon his arrival at the Drogheda Chamber, Abdoullahi was set a number of tasks to complete.  He was asked to research the Chamber’s Newsletter and to find out about other Irish Chamber’s forms of communication with their members.  He was also asked to study the Irish, British and French Chambers and Analyse the different ways in which each country operates.  During his research he had to read and write a lot of English and he also had to speak to many people on the telephone.  He was quite shy at first but as time went on he settled down and became quite comfortable in completing his tasks.

At the end of his 10-week placement Abdoullahi presented his completed reports and the Chamber President, Eugene Kierans was most impressed with the work he had done.  We hope his experience with the Drogheda Chamber will be a happy memory for him and wish him all the best of luck for his future career!
