If your company engages in the exporting of goods, some countries may request a Certificate of Origin. This document proves the place of growth, production, or manufacture of the goods specified thereon. The Drogheda & District Chamber provides this service which I am sure you would find much more convenient and at the most competitive price.
1. Pre registration for the Certification Service Before the Chamber can provide you with Certification service we need an undertaking of indemnification with respect to information provided by you to the Chamber. An indemnification form is available from the Chamber.
2. Designation of authorised signatories in the company Please also advise the Chamber (by letter on headed notepaper) of the names of the staff members in your company who should be authorised to sign applications for Certificates. We would be grateful if you could keep us informed of changes of responsible staff, as we will not be in a position to certify applications where the signatory is not known to us.
Please note that if you are exporting to one of the countries subscribing to the rules of the Arab league an Arab Irish Certificate must be used. Application forms for these Certificates are also available from the Chamber.
All documents accompanying a Certificate of Origin must be signed on behalf of the company as well as stamped by the company.
3. Non Members of the Chamber We hope that as an exporter in our region you will join the Chamber. If you choose not to join please be aware that a letter of reference from your bank must be submitted, confirming that the company maintains an account with the bank. This letter will be kept on our files.
4. Blank Certificates & Certification Charges Further to a notification received from Chambers Ireland on the 30th of March 2010, we have been instructed to change our pricing policy for all Certificates of Origin. This is a direct instruction from the Attorney General.
