Who are the Chamber Council?


The Council Members of Drogheda and District Chamber are a group of dedicated individuals who give their time and expertise generously for the betterment of Drogheda and business in the region.

The Council is headed up by President Padraic Kierans and is supported by the Chairpersons of the respective Committees: Retail, Tourism, Marketing & Events, Strategic Planning, Finance and Enterprise.

Council members sit on a variety of Boards and Councils that affect the decision making for Drogheda. Those areas include everything from the Louth Economic Forum, The Drogheda Economic Forum, Louth County Enterprise Board to Louth Hospitality, Drogheda Institute of Further Education, The Highlanes Gallery, Droichead Arts Centre and The Drogheda Arts Festival.

Sheila Barry

Sheila, a native of Cork, has over 20 years experience in Banking gained in Dublin, Paris and London.

 

Realising a long held dream, Sheila took over the café at Highlanes Gallery in June 2008 in a joint venture with Andersons of Glasnevin and Drumcondra. 

 

Sheila joined the Retail Committee of the Drogheda and District Chamber in June 2009 and the Chamber Council in June 2010.  She is also a member of Network Louth.

Anne Marie Graham

Anne Marie Graham is the Managing Director of Healthforce.

 

She graduated as a Registered General Nurse, further graduated with BSc (Hons) in Health Studies and from this progressed in to the area of Occupational Health and Safety, leading to further qualifications in this area, namely Post Grad Diploma and a Masters.

She has 10 years experience with both multi nationals and companies in the SME sector.

Eugene Kierans

Eugene joined the Chamber over 20 years ago and has been involved in all aspects of Chamber life.  Eugene has been in the meat trade for 50 years.   From 1987 to 1990 he was the National President of the Irish Master Butcher’s Federation.  He also served 10 years on the National Meat Board, now Bord Bia.

Jim Corcoran

Jim Corcoran is the manager of B Corcoran Ltd, one of Drogheda's oldest businesses.  It is based in Dyer Street in Drogheda and they have been in the seed and feed business for almost seventy years. Jim has served on the Chamber Council for 11 years and he is the Chair of the Retail Committee. Jim’s hobbies are all sports, reading, gardening, dogs and horse racing.  He is also Chairman of Bellewstown Races.

Paul became involved in the Property Business 40 years ago. His company specialises in renovating old buildings for industrial, commercial & leisure purposes.

Mark Markey

Mark Markey is Managing Director of the longest established recruitment agency in the North East of Ireland, The Recruitment Bureau, Drogheda. 

 

The Recruitment Bureau is a generalist commercial agency, in that we recruit specifically for the commercial and office market – we believe that we cannot be “ all things to all people” and so we concentrate on areas in which we have experience. 

 

"Originally from Clogherhead, and a keen sailor, Mark is very active on the Clogherhead Tourism committee, where among other things, he is working hard on bringing a marina to Clogherhead."
