Chamber President Padraic Kierans commented on the event saying “White Collar Boxing puts Chamber right in the heart of the wider community, and it touches into people’s lives that might never come across the Chamber”.  He went on to congratulate all those brave enough to take part.

The event itself featured 12 matches over the duration of the evening, each one more exciting than the next.  The Chamber would like to thank and acknowledge all the hard work put in by the boxers and all the fantastic support & contributions from the sponsors on the night. 

The highlight of the night was the much anticipated final fight between two heavy weights Robert Maher and Darren O’Brien, in what can only be described as a thrilling match.  The overall drama of the night was evident by each contender making his/her grand entrance to themed music and enduring 3 rounds of intense fighting.  It was hard to take your eyes off the ring throughout the night!

Kierans commented that this event was not only to highlight the Chamber but to get local business men & women working together to put on a great night’s entertainment for the local community and to raise some much needed funds for Drogheda Youth Development who are working to open Drogheda Youth Café in 2012.  DYD are faced with the challenge of raising €300,000 between now and May in order to make the Café a reality.
